Reasons to Play Skyrim Game in 2019
No one could argue that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim might be one of the greatest RPG games of all time. Many people were hooked in it at launch but never managed to experience it in its full glory. While at launch The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim game was awesome, later DLCs and updates made the game even bigger and better. In regards to that, we’d like to give you some reasons why it’s worth revisiting in 2019.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim game was released back in 2011 and featured an expansive world with numerous things to do in it. However, the most dedicated players who sank hours into the game fairly soon ran out of things to explore. So, to keep the buzz going Bethesda started releasing additional content, all of which is a part of Skyrim Legendary Edition released back in 2013.
DLC content you’ve never tried
The first major DLC for Skyrim game called Dawnguard was released in 2011. However, according to Steam numbers, Dawnguard was purchased only by a portion of players who played the original title, which is fairly sad since the addition was great. It told a story about the Vampire Lord Harkon and his return to power. Dawnguard even received an award on VGX as the best DLC of the year, but sadly, some players never tried it even though they loved the original game.
A similar thing happened with a second major content update. A few months after players completed Dawnguard, Hearthfire was released. This Skyrim game DLC introduced an option to purchase your own piece of land in which you could build your own house. While it didn’t offer much storywise, it was a welcome addition which expanded Skyrim’s gameplay options.
Finally, the third DLC called Dragonborn was released in 2012. It introduced a new place called Solstheim and brought in hours of new content to explore. However, Skyrim’s popularity was already fading so most players didn’t even bother to try it.
Technical improvements
However, DLC content is not the only thing added to Skyrim game throughout the years. As time went by, gaming hardware changed. We’ve received new consoles, PC power capabilities were also growing. To make the game more accessible, Bethesda had to make some changes in order to keep up with the industry standards. So they did…
Skyrim Legendary Edition introduced special combat cameras, added mounted combat and even a new game mode designed for the most hardcore players. In addition, Legendary Edition also included a new Legendary skills system which enabled players to master every perk, leveling up their skills infinitely.
Also, let’s not forget graphical improvements which even made the game playable on next-generation devices. Skyrim game even made its way to Nintendo Switch which is the latest gaming console still growing in popularity.
The Elder Scrolls 6 might be just around the corner
However, probably the biggest reason to revisit Skyrim in 2019 is its inevitable sequel. Last year, Bethesda teased The Elder Scrolls 6 which might be even more interesting to play if you know all the lore behind it. While currently there’s no firm release date of the game, we might expect it to come with the next generation of consoles. Microsoft has already announced Project Scarlet for 2020, while Sony is already teasing PlayStation 5.
In order to catch up with all things Skyrim game currently has to offer, we’re sure you’ll spend months or even years. So why not start now? Most of the core gamers played Skyrim during its first few weeks or months haven’t had a chance to experience all of the features that were added at a later date… and that’s a huge reason to revisit the game after all these years. The best part is – you can pick up this great title with all its content for less than 10 bucks.
