  • Checking internet connectivity

The first thing one must consider before trying to fix TCP/IP errors is to check whether the internet connection has a problem or not. To check the internet connection, one must run a ping test on their computer.

This error is fixed with a simple process which is: – Open Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Ethernet -> Change Adapter Settings. Once you’re in, locate the missing protocols and right-click them and choose “Properties” and install the protocols from there.

  • Blank IP Configuration

Blank IP configuration is a TCP/IP problem which occurs when the IP address is not assigned to the network. This problem can be fixed using Command Prompt on a Windows PC. For this, one must open a command prompt on their PC and type “ipconfig/all.” If the results show an empty set, IP addresses have not been assigned. To assign IP addresses properly, one must go through 2 command prompt steps which are:

  • Step 1: On command prompt, type “ipconfig/release” and press Enter.
  • Step 2: After the previous query is executed, type “ipconfig/renew” and press Enter.

Once these 2 steps are completed, the user can enter “ipconfig/all” again to check whether an IP address has now been assigned.

  • Flush DNS repairing

This fix is performed when the user is properly connected to a working internet network yet is unable to browse the internet to due to DNS troubles. DNS troubles are errors which occur on the internet server; here the users is flashed with the message “The webpage is not available” in their browser. To perform this fix, the following steps are followed:

  • Step 1: On your PC, open Command Prompt.
  • Step 2: Once opened, type “ipconfig/flushdns” and press Enter.
  • Step 3: Then, follow the same steps followed in the “BLANK IP CONFIGURATION” column of the article.
